| Materials:
Clear glass ball ornament- 3 1/4" Bubble brush Bubble Adhesive Crystal multi glitter-ultra fine Scissors |
Optional: Small funnel to pour glitter into ball 1/4" red liner double stick tape Clear glass beads (without holes) 1.5mm |
| Note: Some glass balls have
invisible mold spores in them. Pre-treat with a bleach/water soak
for 5 minutes or longer; rinse well and drain upside down until dry before
using them.
Directions: 1. Use a small photocopy (NOT a computer printout-the ink will run) of a photograph that has been copied on 20lb white paper. Sizes can range from 1"-2"+. Whatever works best for you. 2. Cut around the finished image leaving about a 1/4" border. Clip into the edges of the paper every 1/4" or 1/2" (even into the image if necessary), to allow the paper to fit smoothly on the rounded ball. These clips will not show when finished. 3. Using a straight pin, prick the image several times in the places that will not be seen such as corner of a eye. This will help the paper fit to the roundness of the ball. 4. Remove the flange (cap) from the ball carefully by squeezing it at the sides where the wires extend down. If the wire is just pulled out quickly, the ball may crack. Pour some adhesive into the ball without getting it on the neck. Tilt the ball until most of the glass is covered where you want the image. 5. Roll the paper image so it will fit through the opening and insert into the ball. 6. Use the Bubble Brush to move and push the paper against the glass until it is smoothly adhered. Slightly bend the bristle end of the brush to allow easy movement inside the ball. 7. Pour more adhesive into the ball if necessary and tilt to cover the inside completely. Pour out any excess. 8. Pour in glitter, roll the ball so the whole inside is covered. Pour out any extra glitter and adhesive so it won't clump. 9. Allow the ball to thoroughly dry. Put the flange (cap) back on, holding the wires like you did when removing it. 10. If spots are missed, apply a little adhesive to the brush and reach in to touch up, then add more glitter. It will look like you mad a bigger mess, but the glitter will cover it up. Optional: Embellish the sides of the cap by covering with 1/4" red liner double stick tape and clear glass beads. If you mess up (who me?), pour bleach inside to loosen, remove everything, let dry and start over. In case you cannot find clear ornaments, use bleach to clean out old colored Christmas ornaments and they will become clear again. Let dry before using. Please note: This application is patented. |
